The vehicle often seen in the films is actually a modified DeLorean DMC-12 sports car, which was selected due to its futuristic design. (Spoiler) No, that car was destroyed by a train after Marty returned to 1985. We built a new one.
​Behind the scenes answer: Still no, BUT - the "Hero" car from filming was actually restored in 2013 and is located at the Petersen Museum in California.

Did you build it/buy it like this?
The Mark IV was built by time travel scientists Danny Botkin and Jeff Davis. The Mark V modifications were designed and built by Jeff Davis.

Can I sit in it?
Hop in! It's not going anywhere unless it hits 88 mph anyway. Watch your head!
